Kondratiev

In economics Kondratiev waves are the terms for a regular S-shaped cycle in the modern (Capitalist) world economy. Fifty to sixty years in length, it consists of an alternation of periods of high sectoral growth with periods of slower growth.

The large consultancy BU has been build in the 60's. Is their time now finished? Very difficult to say. The economy is recovering, the number of small ICT companies is increasing fast. These are short term effects and have nothing to do with Kondratiev.

The growing markets in India and China could mean a change for the ICT companies in the Western World. Now they try to lead these markets in their native countries, while India companies try to get offices in the Western World. And in the end it is all economics again. Gresham's law: 'Bad money drives good money out of circulation.'
