Roxy (1970) Music

A friend of mine came to me in 1972 with a very special LP. The guys of the band, Roxy Music, had exotic fashion, the music strange, but nice. Their first album contains titles related to old movies like '2HB' (Humphrey Bogard Casablanca) and 'Change Meeting' (Brief Encounter). A track of their fifth album is 'Both Ends Burning'. The number has a never ever forgetable beat, which is uncommonly for rock music:

Please don't ever let me down
For you know I'm not so sure
Do I have the speed to carry on?
Burn you out of my mind?, I know
You're a flame that never fades
Jungle red's a deadly shade
Both ends burning, will the fires meet
Somewhere deep in my soul tonight?

Both ends burning, burning, burn
Both ends burning, burning, burn

Now my course is plain as day
Running bold and world to play
Both ends burning with a strange desire
That feeds the fire in my soul tonight
I will dance the night away living only for today
Both ends burning while you're counting sheep
Hell, who can sleep in this heat this night?

Both ends burning, burning, burn
Both ends burning, burning, burn

Tell me will I ever learn? it's too late, the rush is on
Both ends burning and I can't control
The fire's raging in my soul tonight
Oh will it ever end?
Put your foot down around the bend
Drive me crazy to an early grave
Tell me what is there to save tonight?

Both ends burning, burning, burn
Keep on burning till the end, until the end
Both ends burning till the end, until the end
Keep on burning till the end, until the end
Both ends burning till the end, the very end

Why is Bob Dylan my favorite songwriter

Have you ever seen a more killing, emotional and involved text writer as Bob Dylan?
Maybe you know only the newbies wrappers. Look at this, it's:

Positively 4th Street

You got a lotta nerve
To say you are my friend
When I was down
You just stood there grinning

You got a lotta nerve
To say you gota helping hand to lend
You just want to be on
The side that's winning

You say I let you down
You know it's not like that
If you're so hurt
Why then don't you show it

You say you lost your faith
But that's not where it's at
You had no faith to lose
And you know it

I know the reason
That you talk behind my back
I used to be among the crowd
You're in with

Do you take me for such a fool
To think I'd make contact
With the one who tries to hide
What he don't know to begin with

You see me on the street
You always act surprised
You say, "How are you?" "Good luck"
But you don't mean it

When you know as well as me
You'd rather see me paralyzed
Why don't you just come out once
And scream it

No, I do not feel that good
When I see the heartbreaks you embrace
If I was a master thief
Perhaps I'd rob them

And now I know you're dissatisfied
With your position and your place
Don't you understand
It's not my problem

I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
And just for that one moment
I could be you

Yes, I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is
To see you

Bad Company

Working in ICT can be diverse. That's just what I like, but I know not everybody will agree. My musical preference are the same. I am a great fan of Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company), Creedence Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan etc.
Important for now is the starting lines of Bad Compony first hit:

Company Always on the run
Destiny is the rising sun
Oh I was born 6-gun in my hand
Behind a gun I'll make my final stand
That's why they call me Bad company
And I can't deny
Bad company Till the day I die
Till the day I die
Till the day I die
