eBook Readers

Wanna have an eBook-Reader? Don't know which one is best? Here is the answer! Don't buy one at this moment. Wanna know why?

To prevent the illegal copying of electronic books the publisher have provide a Copy-protection mechanism know as Digital Right Management (DRM). It works like this. After buying an eBook you receive the file either on your Kindle (Amazon) or Computer (Adobe and Sony). The registration of the devices makes it possible to read the file on your system. In case of Adobe and Sony you need a computer with installed software to distribute the file to your ebook reader.

The disadvantage of the two systems is that an ebook reader can only read one of the two systems. So which one will be the winner?

The deciding element in the video-tape-war between VHS, Betamax and Philips 2000 was the larger distribution of XXX-movies. What shall it be now?
